Description:

Mahjong solitaire is a matching solitaire game that employs a set of Mahjong tiles, diverging from traditional card-based gameplay. The original computer game was developed by Brodie Lockard in 1981 and was initially named Mah-Jongg, reflecting its ties to the traditional game that utilizes the same tiles. Lockard maintains that his version drew inspiration from an ancient Chinese game called "the Turtle." However, it gained widespread popularity following Activision's release of Shanghai in 1986 for Macintosh and Apple IIgs. Subsequently, a version titled Taipei was included in the Microsoft Entertainment Pack for Windows 3.x in 1990, leading to its appearance in the Best of Windows Entertainment Pack. More recently, premium editions of Windows Vista and Windows 7 featured a variant known as Mahjong Titans.

As with many classic games, countless iterations have emerged across various platforms. Our rendition aims to preserve the essence of the original while offering players 60 different layouts within a compact download. The gameplay involves pairing exposed tiles—those that can be moved left or right without obstructing others—culminating in their removal from the layout. Players seek to eliminate all tiles by finding pairs of identical ones, including Flower and Seasons tiles considered identical within the same group. The game concludes when either the layout is fully cleared or no more exposed pairs remain.
